Are you looking for temporary, flexible work in a professional and supportive environment? We are seeking reliable and vigilant individuals to join us as Ad Hoc Exam Invigilators for the upcoming May/June exam period in Cambridge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Before the Exam: Set up exam rooms, arrange papers, answer booklets, and stationery, and ensure seating plans are followed.
- During the Exam: Actively invigilate, maintaining vigilance and moving around the room to ensure a fair testing environment, preventing malpractice, and managing exam time (including providing start/finish times).
- After the Exam: Collect and order exam scripts according to official procedures to ensure accuracy and prevent administrative errors.
- Irregularities: Report any incidents, disruptions, or suspected cheating immediately to the Lead Invigilator or Exams Officer.
- Support: Provide support as a reader or scribe for students with special educational needs, if requested.
Person Specification:
- Reliability: High levels of flexibility for “as and when needed” work during the May-June exam period.
- Vigilance: Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain focused for extended periods of time.
- Communication: Clear and confident communication in English, with the ability to take a firm yet friendly approach to students.
- Calmness: Ability to stay calm under pressure, especially in emergencies or technical issues.
- Compliance: Familiarity with JCQ regulations and a strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
- DBS Check: A cleared enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required.
