About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK producer of sustainable solid recovered fuel, operating a state-of-the-art reprocessing facility near Heathrow. The business plays a vital role in helping customers reduce environmental impact by diverting carbon-rich waste from landfill and converting it into alternative fuel.
As Shift Supervisor, you will take full responsibility for the safe and efficient running of site operations during your shift. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will supervise staff, drive production performance, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all shift activities, ensuring production targets and quality standards are met

Supervise and motivate operational staff, promoting a high-performance culture

Monitor plant performance, identifying opportunities to maximise efficiency and reduce downtime

Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures and promote a safety-first mindset

Act as the main point of contact during your shift, escalating key updates to senior management

Complete and maintain accurate shift documentation and reports

Lead problem-solving and root-cause analysis to resolve operational issues

Deliver clear shift handovers and maintain strong communication across teams

Support training and development of team members

Uphold high housekeeping standards across the facility

Collaborate with other supervisors to ensure consistency across all shifts

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and business growth
About You – Experience Required
-
Previous supervisory experience in a high-volume processing or manufacturing environment

Background in engineering, maintenance, or electrical operations
-
Experience within waste management, recycling, or heavy industry (desirable)

Proven ability to manage plant, equipment, and production processes

Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements
